The pathology department is divided into various sub-departments which are discussed below –
Histopathology : Histopathology deals with the study of microscopic changes or abnormalities in tissues that are caused as a result of many diseases.
Serology : Serology is a medical science dealing with blood serum and specially their immunological reactions and properties.
Haematology : Haematology is the study of morphology and physiology of blood. It involves treating diseases that affect the production of blood and its components such as haemoglobin, blood cells, blood proteins and the mechanism of coagulation.
Microbiology : Microbiology is the study of structure, function, uses and modes of existence of microscopic organisms.
Biochemistry : Biochemistry studies the structure and properties of molecules in living organisms, making and changing of those molecules and any measures for stopping its break-down.
