Departmental Services

  • Arthroscopy: A procedure for diagnosing and treating joint problems. Surgeons can even repair some types of joint damage during arthroscopy with pencil-thin surgical instruments inserted through additional small incisions. Arthroscopy allows the surgeon to see inside the joint without having to make a large incision.
  • Bone Density Test: This test is done to diagnose osteoporosis – a disease that causes bones to become more fragile and more likely to break easily. The most commonly tested bones are in the spine, hip and forearm. A bone density test uses X-rays to measure how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone.
  • Hip replacement: During the surgery, a surgeon removes the damaged sections of the hip joint and replaces them with parts usually constructed of metal and very hard plastic.
  • Knee replacement: Knee replacement surgery can help relieve pain and restore function in severely diseased knee joints.
